Awesome Threesome

I bought three sets of new cuttings (Crystal Flash, David's Golden Splendor, and Falling In Love) to test out rooting in 8" pots when in possession of multiple cuttings of the same kind. I also modified my soil mix recipe. There are as many soil mix recipes as there are growers; I am happy to call this mix my own.

Repotted Golden Jubilee

I removed one of the stems of my Golden Jubilee epiphyllum, repotted it with the experimental soil mix recipe, and added it to the family of 8" pots. It looks like it's in its rightful place, standing strong and proud. It makes me smile.

14 Experimental Cuttings

I bought 14 different epiphyllum cuttings from an eBay seller to experiment with a soil mix recipe that I put together out of research from various sources. Unfortunately, some of the cuttings turned out to be small and baby-ish. Hopefully, they still root and mature healthy and strong over the months. The type of cuttings are as follows: Star of Persia, Raspberry Ribbons x Jennifer Ann, Pink Cup, Welcome, Glamour, Mary Betty, Peach Magic, Tropic Incense, Chi Chi Castenago, King Midas, Atlantis, Grace Ann, Mystic Magic, and Aztec Treasure.

Acquisitions from My First SDES Meeting

I attended my first San Diego Epiphyllum Society meeting two nights ago and I ended up winning six different cuttings (Sam, New Horizon, Red Willow, Pegasus, Exuberant, and Bayou Belle) from the raffle, mostly thanks to a dude that was kind enough to give me four of his winning raffle tickets. I potted them today to initiate rooting.

I also got a free rooted cutting, Golden Jubilee. Although one of the stems look beaten up, the other stem is healthy.

Give these additions to my epiphyllum collection a few months and they'll surely be healthier than ever.
